Francoeur

I haven't spent too much time on Jeff Francoeur's start, actually I don't think I've wrote one word, for whatever reason. There's a lot of speculating around the Royals blogosphere right now on whether or not he finally figured things out, put me in with the wait and see crowd. It would be easier to believe if he hadn't done this before, like last year. Looking at his career we see that his best month is April, so his season thus far may just be par for the course. We'll know more in a few weeks, as May is his worst month. If he hits June with an OPS over .800, well, then I may start coming around.

Here is a chart featuring his OPS by month, for his career and his 2010 season.
Career, 2010

It's not exactly a confidence booster, is it? That's why the wait and see approach probably is the way to go. As you can see, the rest of his splits follow a similar trajectory.

(I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to discover chartgo.com but now that I know it's there, well, I can't promise I'll go all Marshall Eriksen, but I can't promise I won't either.)
